First, let me say hello. First post, blah, blah, blah. Two comments: at the Albuquerque show last Wednesday (small club, ~700 people tops), Ian Bairnson said several times the crowd was great and they were really getting a lot of energy from the response. And regarding the performance at the small club (a place called "The Zone"), the local promotor had scheduled a much larger venue, but they didn't sell even a quarter of the tickets. The promotor came out before the Albuquerque show, and apologized for the change of venue. He said they didn't understand why more tickets weren't sold, since the AP/Kansas show in Santa Fe had sold out the previous summer. Now, Santa Fe was his first US appearance, and that would make Santa Fe the first sold out show (~3500 people at Palo Saleri Theatre, outdoors). No big deal, just glad to hear one of my favorite bands is capable of sold-out performance at diverse venues. BTW, both concerts were phenomenal. We were in the front row, center at The Zone, and we literally had to be careful not to hit the performers as we screamed, and sung and danced along. Without question, this second AP performance is the highlight of over 100 live concerts I've seen (and this from a *major* Rush fan who's seen the Canadian trio over two dozen times...) I assume others have been talking about set lists, etc., so I won't repeat or spoil things. If someone's interested in further impressions and comments, just drop me a line.
