David Paton

DAVID PATON (Bass & vocals)

David Paton was born October 29, 1949 in Edinburgh (Scotland). He was one of the founding members of the adult pop band "Pilot", which released four albums in the period 1973-1977. During that period Paton was noted by Alan Parsons and was enrolled in his sessionmen crew, and appeared since 1976 on every Alan Parsons album up to "Stereotomy", even on side projects like "Keats" and "Ladyhawke". He has played on many other albums, guesting on Chris Rea and Elton John albums, among others; he is recognized as an excellent bass player and lead/backing vocalist. He has been a member of Rick Wakeman's band, Fish's backing band (ex Marillion singer) and of the famous prog rock band Camel. Recently he has released another Pilot album reuniting with former bandmate Ian Bairnson.
